BlueCity is one of ifund’s first investments. Since the end of 2015, BlueCity is located in the former subtropical swimming paradise Tropicana next to the Maas in Rotterdam.

BlueCity aims to accelerate the transition from an old, finite economy to a new, circular economy. Entrepreneurs have their office space in a multifunctional building and BlueCity facilitates them, being the agenda holder of programming regarding the circular and sustainable economy in Rotterdam. It is an open space, where knowledge is shared and serves as an example of what the economy and food supply of the future will look like. The entrepreneurs use each other’s residual flows as new raw materials, close cycles and build a new ecosystem, following the example of circular nature. Curious? Come and visit one of the events. We have been involved since the beginning (2015) by financing the organization and the purchase of the property and the renovations, which has enabled the building to undergo a circular transformation.
